Georgia's Home Study Law & Standardized Testing

"Georgia Law requires that students are to take a standardized test at least every three (3) years, beginning in the third grade.  Parents may give these tests yearly, if desired. Parents are NOT required to send in test scores to the county or to the state. In fact, school officials do not even want to see them. The test results are for parents to help assess the progress of their child(ren). Keep the test results in a file designated as a permanent folder for each child. " - GHEA

"Georgia’s Home Study law (GA Code Ann. 20-2-690-(c)(7), requires that children take a national standardized achievement test every three years, beginning at the end of the third grade..."

"These are the five most commonly used achievement tests. Each has a total composite score and subscores. It is recommended that you use the same achievement test each time you test in order to be able to compare the scores..."
